Modern Montessori International London

WELCOME TO

MMI RAYNES PARK NURSERY

South West London

Welcome to MMI Preschool, Modern Montessori International - the leading Montessori provider in the area.

When given the flexibility and liberty to learn at their own speed, children have a remarkable capacity to absorb information, according to the Montessori educational philosophy. A child-led method of education known as “Montessori schooling” incorporates children’s rights to achievement, play, and access to nature

Giving your child the best possible start in life is crucial for their future. Giving children the best education they can get is crucial to making sure they succeed in whatever career path they decide to choose. For the interest of your child, make wise decisions and choose MMI Preschool

The Location

Our preschool is in a lovely locality of South West London, based in the heart of Cottenham Park. Our children come from all around to attend. Our families, and employees are all diverse and accurately represent the multicultural city of London.

You are about to join the group of parents who already recognised the quality of education that we provide in our Raynes Park branch. All young children, in our opinion, merit the best possible start in life.

Why choose us?

Now more than ever, we must acknowledge the importance of outdoor play when it comes to the impact it has on early years development. If you want your child to have the best possible start, let them join our outdoor classroom in the middle of the park.

Montessori underpins social-emotional abilities. The 100-year-old Montessori Method’s viability demonstrates that children who learn in Montessori classrooms develop stronger social-emotional skills in many areas than children in more traditional environments.

Time spent in nature provides children with the opportunity to switch off and give their brains a little bit of enjoyment. Allowing children playtime helps them burn off energy and improve their ability to concentrate, helping them to shine in the classroom.

Montessori children enjoy the freedom within limits. Working within the boundaries set by their early years Montessori teachers and the classroom community, children are active participants in deciding what their focus of learning will be.

Having this vast outside area allows children to connect with nature and explore different types of plants can have a calming effect.

Beginning at an early age, Montessori methodology nurtures order, concentration, and independence. Our unique classroom design, the enabling environment and materials, and daily routines support the children’s emerging “self-regulation”

MMI RAYNES PARK NURSERY ROOMS

Baby Room – Raynes Park Nursery (Opening September 2025)

In our brand-new Baby Room at Raynes Park, we’ve created a calm, homely atmosphere where babies are cared for with warmth, attention, and affection, just as they would be at home.

The environment has been thoughtfully designed to support each baby’s individual needs, with age-appropriate sensory equipment and stimulating resources that encourage exploration and development. From soft, cosy areas for rest and bonding to engaging play zones, every detail has been tailored to nurture your child’s curiosity, confidence, and early physical abilities.

This important stage is when babies begin to form early social bonds, develop self-awareness, and express their needs and emotions. With plenty of one-to-one interaction and encouragement, babies grow in confidence and communication. Our caring practitioners help support this journey with meaningful activities that promote language development, emotional security, and social skills.

Each baby is assigned a dedicated key person, ensuring consistency of care and a strong, trusting relationship that supports your child’s emotional well-being. You’ll receive regular updates on their experiences and developmental milestones.

We’re excited to introduce our experienced Baby Room team, led by Ema, who brings over 10 years of specialist experience in caring for infants. All staff are trained in early years development, with a particular focus on supporting the unique needs of babies.

Activities in the Baby Room include:

  • Sensory exploration and treasure baskets
  • Music, singing, and movement
  • Storytelling and language-rich play
  • Messy play and motor skill development
  • Gentle outdoor play in our secure garden area
  • And many more experiences that support every aspect of your baby’s early growth and development

At Raynes Park, your baby will be welcomed into a safe, loving space where their individuality is celebrated, and every day is full of discovery, care, and cuddles.

Our large spacious Early Years Room offers a nurturing, stimulating environment for children aged 2 to 5. Blending the Montessori method with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), we support each child’s natural development through hands-on, play-based learning.

The room is equipped with new Montessori materials covering Practical Life, Sensorial, Cultural, Maths, and Literacy areas. Children are free to explore at their own pace, building confidence, independence, and key early skills.

We also offer dedicated spaces for creative and imaginative play, including a role-play room that transforms—at the children’s request—into spaces like a Post Office, Home Corner, or Sensory Room. Our Art & Crafts Room encourages messy play, painting, sand and water play, and self-expression.

With a low adult-to-child ratio and direct access to a secure outdoor garden, we provide a safe, enriching space where children are inspired to learn, grow, and thrive.
