With each individual card, the parent may develop:
- Like elements in words
- Words with short vowels
Using several cards, the parent pronounces different words such as ten, hen, etc. Children are directed to find these words on the cards.
The parent pronounces a key word or syllable and directs the child to find it on the card. The child can also indicate several other words on the card that have similar vowel sounds to the key word.
The 3 Letter Story Cards give the child the practice he needs in reading simple short vowel sounds. They are a perfect complement to any reading programme, as they offer the child a book of his own which they can actually read and share with his parents.
